This photo of me with my first grandchild was taken three years ago. As you can see, I am a very happy Grandma. I now have two grandsons, and I feel grateful that I am able to spend a lot of time with them caring for them and watching them grow. Also, witnessing my daughter and my son-in-law go from being a couple to co-creating a beautiful family together is one of the greatest joys of my life. I now have a greater appreciation for what today's couples are experiencing during these challenging periods of transition. I became certified to facilitate The Gottman Institute's "Bringing Baby Home" workshop, so that I can provide additional support and guidance to growing families.
I was certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist in 1996, and I have been working with couples and studying relationship counseling ever since. In addition to my Imago training, I have studied under and completed extensive training with Hedy Schleifer, founder of Encounter-centered Couple's Transformation, with John Gottman and Julie Schwartz Gottman, co-founders of the Gottman Method for Couple's Therapy, and with many masterful mindfulness/yoga instructors at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts as well as at many health and yoga centers here in the Bay Area. Also, I am a lifelong learner, and I have had additional training with Sue Johnson, Gary Chapman, Dan Siegel, teachers of Steven Covey's work, and many other gurus of relationship counseling.
Over the past 24 years, I have developed my own way of working with clients by blending the knowledge and research of these relationship experts. I offer my clients my extensive training, my personal and professional experience, and my heartfelt desire to be of service to all people who truly want to co-create and enjoy the relationship of their dreams. I customize a counseling plan for each couple and each individual, so that their unique and particular needs and wants are met. I feel honored and privileged to be able to do this work.
I am licensed in California and New York, and I am currently living in San Francisco, CA.
Currently, my practice is all online. I have a HIPAA-compliant Zoom account.
I am an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the California Association of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC), the American Psychological Association (APA), the Imago Relationship Association of North America (IRNA), the Bay Area Association of Imago Relationship Therapists (BAIRT), and The Gottman Institute's Network.
